J. Timothy Blackwelder, MD
Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology, Dr. Tim Blackwelder has had extensive training in breast imaging. He has taught digital mammography workshops for World Class CME and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy workshops for the Radiological Society of North America’s annual convention. He continues to lecture to physician and consumer groups.
Prior to joining Breast Diagnostic Center full-time, he was a breast imaging specialist for Swedish Cancer Institute and the University of Kentucky. He is our senior partner and is committed to excellence. His hobbies include golf, puzzles, and reading, especially historical fiction of the British Navy, in the eighteenth and ninetieth centuries.
Michael J. Ulissey, MD, FACR
Dr. Mike Ulissey is Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology, with fellowship training in Clinical Breast Radiology and Magnetic Resonance Imaging. He is the past Director of Breast Imaging at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center/ Parkland Memorial Hospital, and is now an Adjunct Professor of Radiology at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center. Dr. Ulissey is a well-respected lecturer on the international circuit.
His areas of expertise include computer-aided detection (CAD), breast biopsy techniques, and new innovations in breast imaging.
In 2009, Parkland Hospital named Dr. Ulissey the Distinguished Physician of the Year, and in 2010 the Dallas Business Journal voted him the Health Care Hero. Dr. Ulissey has received the honor to be inducted into the American College of Radiology as a Fellow, one of the highest honors the ACR can bestow on a radiologist. He has been featured in the Auburn Reporter and New Day Northwest for his accomplishments.
His hobbies include writing, Tae Kwon Do, and most outdoor activities. He recently published his first novel.
